VALENTINE'S DAY: To Love Someone

Happy Valentine's Day!

May TODAY be a day in which every individual, and the whole wide world, chooses love over fear, love over hate, and love over attack.

Below is a poem I wrote, called "To Love Someone" when I was putting together the vision for a forthcoming workshop called "Love and Fear."

How do you really love

some

one?

In a way that they really

know they

are

loved?

And in a way that you

know that

this is

love?

I can’t tell you that.

That is not my job.

Only love can

teach you how to

love.

Therefore, this is what

you must do.

Pray to Love, like you

would pray to God.

Say to Love, “Show me

how to love this

person.”

Say to Love, “I am

finished. Now it is

Your turn to have a

go.”

Say to Love, “I am

Yours. Please use me.

Please help me to be a

presence of love on this

planet.”

Keep petitioning to Love.

Go straight to the top.

Accept no other teacher.

Let Love teach you to

love.

Eventually, spiritual e-mails

will land in your heart.

Internal memos, sent by

Love, will guide you and

direct you.

Love notes will write

themselves

into your

life.

And Love will show you

how to

love.

Celebrate Your LIfe: I Choose Love

Today I am giving the closing keynote at the Celebrate Your Life conference in Chicago. My keynote will feature a guest appearance by the outstanding musician and songwriter, Shawn Gallaway.

I first came across Shawn’s music about 8 week ago. I was sent a copy of his video for his song “I Choose Love.” I liked it so much I immediately bought his album on ITunes. The song “I Choose Love” is so beautiful, I found myself playing it over and over. In fact, one day I put it on my Ipod, hit “Repeat,” and went running to the song for about an hour around Central Park, New York. I also started listening to the song as part of my preparation for delivering my keynote talks and workshops.

Two weeks after first hearing “I Choose Love,” I travelled to San Diego to participate in the I CAN DO IT Conference. Who should I meet there? Shawn Gallaway! There he was, just sitting in the crowd. I recognized him immediately. We have been in conversation ever since. AND, today, Shawn Gallaway will be singing “I Choose Love” as part of my keynote for “Celebrate Your Life.” Do you believe in synchronicity, or is it all random for you?!

Valentine's Day: The Love Dedication

A few years ago a journalist interviewed me for an article on the psychology of success. At the end of a very stimulating interview, the journalist asked if I would e-mail an answer to one final question: “What is your ultimate secret to success?”

After meditating for a while on my “ultimate secret of success,” I wrote something called the “Love Dedication.” This dedication appears in my book Success Intelligence. I thought it might be a good idea to share it again today, on Valentine's Day.


Before you dedicate your life
to a person, a marriage, a family;
to a corporation, a political party,
a peace campaign;
to a religion, a revolution, a
spiritual path;
make one other dedication first.
First dedicate yourself to LOVE.
Decide to let Love be your
intention, your purpose and
your point.
And then let Love inspire you,
support you, and guide you
in every other dedication
you make thereafter.
